Emma (00:02):
You are listening to Dialogue Frog's English dialogue between two people. So, how did last night go?

Luke (00:11):
Uh, it went pretty well.

Emma (00:12):
And what were you doing again?

Luke (00:14):
Uh, I was meeting with a teacher.

Emma (00:16):
Oh yeah. Oh-, so-, are-, sometimes, I get nervous when I'm like meeting with, with my professors. How does it make you feel?

Luke (00:27):
I also get nervous.

Emma (00:28):
Oh yeah?

Luke (00:30):
But my profe-, my professor is pretty, pretty chill.

Emma (00:34):
Yeah.

Luke (00:34):
So.

Emma (00:36):
I've, I've done that before. So I've gone out to have like coffee with professors. Um, also I've gone out to lunch with professors before, too. Just like talk over, uh, I guess, plans or ideas. What did you guys talk about?

Luke (00:53):
Um, not really anything. We just crack jokes.

Emma (00:59):
Well, that's a part of it too, right? Like it's relationship building because often your teacher or your professor becomes like a lifelong mentor. I know how that is. Yeah. Although I'm, I'm very bad at maintaining relationships over a very long period of time, but that's part of the idea, right? Is you're building a, a network, a professional network, and it starts with your teachers and your teachers kind of open doors for you. Were you, were you in a group with other students or it's just you and the professor?

Luke (01:30):
Um, there were some other students there, but I had the, the, uh, the luxury seat of sitting next to him.

Emma (01:39):
Ooh. The hot seat.

Luke (01:41):
The hot seat.

Emma (01:41):
Oh yeah. It is very interesting to kind of be talking with a professor outside of the classroom when, outside of their office. So when you're not on, when you're not in the campus space, but you still have that teacher-student relationship, but it's also in a more comfortable environment. It's a little less stiff maybe.

Luke (02:00):
Yeah, for sure.

Emma (02:01):
Yeah. Okay. Well, this has been an English dialogue between two people with Dialogue Frog. For transcripts of this episode and vocabulary lists, please visit our website, dialoguefrog.com.
