You're listening to a dialogue in English with Dialogue Frog. So, I'm starting a new job.

Emma 0:08
Whoa! Wow!

Luke 0:09
Mm hm. It's true.

Emma 0:10
Congratulations.

Luke 0:11
Thanks.

Emma 0:12
That's amazing.

Luke 0:12
Mm hm.

Emma 0:13
I'm going to buy you a cake.

Luke 0:16
I'm gonna eat that cake.

Emma 0:17
It's a deal.

Luke 0:19
Oh, yeah.

Emma 0:19
So, this is- this is awesome. So, first you submitted an application online or?

Luke 0:24
Yeah and then I went in for an interview and then I got the job, so.

Emma 0:31
Wow.

Luke 0:31
Yeah.

Emma 0:31
That- normally it isn't that easy. So, how- how did the interview go? I know when- when I do interviews, I get pretty nervous, especially 'cause it's probably your- your new boss who you're talking to you and you want to impress them.

Luke 0:43
Mm hm.

Emma 0:44
How- how did your interview go?

Luke 0:46
Uh, it went really smoothly. They basically said, 'When can you start?' And-

Emma 0:53
That's the ideal.

Luke 0:53
I'm like, 'Well, I need some time to eat my cake.' So.

Emma 0:57
Yeah. So, you gave him like 10 minutes or...?

Luke 1:01
That and then I said, 'If you could fire me, and then rehire me, so I get a second cake. That would be ideal.'

Emma 1:10
It might be easier if- if we just buy you a second cake.

Luke 1:14
Oh. I guess.

Emma 1:17
Yeah. Well still, that's really exciting.

Luke 1:19
Mm hm.

Emma 1:19
Congratulations.

Luke 1:20
Yep. Thanks.

Emma 1:21
So, are you- are you nervous about anything, about like, when you go into a new workplace, sometimes you don't know like your colleagues and stuff. So are- are you nervous for uh, meeting your new colleagues?

Luke 1:37
Uh, yeah, a little bit, but it'll be fine.

Emma 1:42
That'll be good. All right. Well, this has been another dialogue in English with Dialogue Frog.
