Emma (00:02):
You're listening to Dialogue Frog's conversations for English listening practice. Would you say that you're a competitive person?

Luke (00:10):
No, I don't think so.

Emma (00:12):
No?

Luke (00:12):
How 'bout you?

Emma (00:15):
I am kind of competitive sometimes.

Luke (00:18):
Yeah.

Emma (00:19):
Yeah. But you're in the music industry. You don't-, don't you feel competitive with other musicians?

Luke (00:24):
No. I think that's why I don't really watch, like America's Got Talent or anything. It's just so, it makes it competitive, but I don't-

Emma (00:33):
Oh, the music competition TV shows.

Luke (00:36):
Yeah, but I don't naturally feel that way.

Emma (00:39):
So, I guess that kind of gets into jealousy, right? So, i-if there's another musician who maybe can do guitar better than you, does it inspire you to practice guitar more?

Luke (00:52):
No, I just think they got their thing. I got my thing.

Emma (00:57):
Different flavors.

Luke (00:57):
Different flavors.

Emma (00:58):
Yeah. I do get competitive, especially when I'm playing board games.

Luke (01:05):
Yeah.

Emma (01:07):
Uh, I really do.

Luke (01:08):
Yeah.

Emma (01:10):
I've always been that way. I'm kind of a perfectionist. So, if I can at least do something well to the point that I'm satisfied-

Luke (01:15):
Yeah.

Emma (01:17):
-then I'm all right. But, when it comes to board games, especially board games where there's only one winner.

Luke (01:24):
Yeah.

Emma (01:25):
I do get competitive.

Luke (01:25):
What's your most competitive board game?

Emma (01:29):
Probably Catan, but also Monopoly.

Luke (01:32):
Yeah, sure.

Emma (01:34):
Also chess. All of the board games. All of them. But I don't play sports, so I'm never really competitive with like sports or physical activity like that.

Luke (01:48):
Yeah.

Emma (01:50):
I guess the Olympics happened recently. Did you watch any of those competitions?

Luke (01:53):
I didn't really.

Emma (01:54):
Yeah. I watched a few.

Luke (01:57):
Yeah.

Emma (02:01):
