Emma (00:02):
You are listening to Dialogue Frog's, English podcast. Are you ready for tomorrow?
Rachel (00:07):
I am so ready for tomorrow. I love Halloween. It's my favorite.
Emma (00:11):
Halloween. So, are you going to dress up?
Rachel (00:15):
Oh yeah.
Emma (00:16):
Well, you're having a party, right?
Rachel (00:18):
Mm hm. Yep. I'm gonna dress up as a witch.
Emma (00:20):
So-
Rachel (00:21):
Classic.
Emma (00:21):
So how, what makes a good Halloween party?
Rachel (00:26):
Hmm, that's a good question. I would say the atmosphere, first and foremost. Good food, good company.
Emma (00:35):
Can you describe the atmosphere? Like what kind of atmosphere are you going for?
Rachel (00:39):
Um, I'm going for spooky-classy.
Emma (00:42):
Spooky-classy.
Rachel (00:44):
Mm yep.
Rachel (00:44):
What does that mean?
Rachel (00:45):
So, not like a scary movie or just-
Emma (00:49):
Like a horror movie.
Rachel (00:49):
You know, like blood and guts everywhere.
Emma (00:52):
Uh huh.
Rachel (00:52):
More, more dark lights, kind of jazzy music in the background. Nice. Spooky decorations, but not scary decorations.
Emma (01:04):
Uh huh. And also not too, like kindergarten-
Rachel (01:07):
Right.
Emma (01:07):
Like made for children.
Rachel (01:09):
Right.
Emma (01:10):
Yeah. But a nice balance-
Rachel (01:11):
Yeah.
Emma (01:11):
Between horror movie and family-friendly.
Rachel (01:15):
Right. Right.
Emma (01:15):
Yep.
Rachel (01:17):
Lighting has a lot to do with it, I think.
Emma (01:20):
Yeah.
Rachel (01:20):
So I'll have kind of purple greenish mood lighting. Kind of a cool, cool light.
Emma (01:26):
Mm hm.
Rachel (01:26):
Cool colors really help to give you the spooky vibes.
Emma (01:30):
Spooky vibes.
Rachel (01:30):
For Halloween. Yeah.
Emma (01:31):
Yeah. Well, and the food too, 'cause you can do a lot with uh decorating food or making like creative cupcakes or creative cookies.
Rachel (01:39):
Mm hm.
Emma (01:39):
Or even other types of things.
Rachel (01:42):
Yeah. I have plans for cupcakes that have a brain on top.
Emma (01:48):
Oh!
Rachel (01:48):
That uses, um, once you decorate with the brain, it uses strawberry jelly kind of oozed over the brain on the cupcake.
Emma (01:56):
To make it look like blood!
Rachel (01:56):
To make it look like blood, yeah.
Emma (01:58):
Oh, that's clever.
Rachel (01:58):
Yeah. There's a lot. And I've seen, um, some cakes will have crushed Oreos on top to look like dirt and you can make it look like a graveyard.
Emma (02:09):
Oh, yeah.
Rachel (02:09):
It's really cute.
Emma (02:10):
There's so much creativity that comes out with Halloween.
Rachel (02:13):
Mm hm.
Emma (02:13):
Halloween decorations.
Rachel (02:14):
Just have everything zombie themed.
Emma (02:16):
There you go.
Rachel (02:17):
Easy.
Emma (02:17):
That's all you need. Well, have a happy Halloween tomorrow.
Rachel (02:20):
Thank you, you too.
Emma (02:21):
