Luke: You are listening to Dialogue Frog’s short English conversations for listening, speaking and shadowing practice. My name is Luke and I’m here with Emma today talking about shopping.

Emma: Shopping! Yay!

Luke: What do you like to shop for, Emma?

Emma: You know, I like to shop for books.

Luke: That’s cool. Just like, audio books too or just, paper books?

Emma: Paper books. Um, I especially like buying used books. Shopping for used books.

Luke: Mm hm.

Emma: But I also like buying new books when its an author I really enjoy reading and I want to make sure that they’re getting the most from that sale of their book.

Luke: Yeah That sounds good. So, is there anything else you like shopping for?

Emma: Um, not really. I’ll sometimes I’ll go out to go shopping just for something to do. I like going to open-air shopping centers. So not inside a building like a department store, but uh places where there’s a bunch of stores that have store fronts on the outside and you can park and go in.  Um, and often there are good restaurants near those too where you can just enjoy the day um, shopping and eating. How ‘bout you?

Luke: Uh, I like to shop for musical instruments which is a lot of fun for me but it’s also quite expensive so…

Emma: Do you shop more online or in stores?

Luke: Uh, That’s the thing I think a lot of people relate to because um, I like the experience of having a wide selection of products to choose from like you get online, but I also like being able to be in store and have the tangible sensation of being able to evaluate the product’s quality like you get when shopping in store so,

Emma: That’s pretty important for a musical instrument because they’re so expensive. You need to know that it’s going to work for you and your style of playing the instrument.

Luke: Yep it is. And uh. Yep, but, I shop online anyway, so. Uh, I just do both probably like most people.

Emma: Are you big on, uh sales? Like do you wait and look for sales or when you need something do you go buy it?

Luke: Um, I like to when I’m shopping I like to use the same advice that I would use when going boating which is if there’s a sail you should probably use it sometimes. Um, yeah.

Emma: That is a good, good philosophy.

Luke: Yep.

Emma: A shopping motto.

Luke: Mm hm. And then credit is kind of like the anchor where you want to be sure to use it at the right place cause if you’re not, you’re going to be stuck for a while.

Emma: That is very true.

Luke: Yep, so, I think that about wraps it up on today’s discussion of shopping so be sure to like and subscribe for uh all our social media platforms and uh, this is Luke signing out. Uh, yeah, see- thanks for listening to Dialogue Frog. See you next time everyone.
