Emma: You are listening to Dialogue Frog’s short and sometimes silly conversations for listening, imitation and shadowing practice. Today is episode 4 and we’re talking about video games with Luke.

Luke: Hey Emma, how are you?

Emma: I am well. How are you?

Luke: Doing good.

Emma: Very good. Do you play video games?

Luke: I do. I play ‘em a little bit.

Emma: Little bit. What game did you play most recently?

Luke: I played a game called ‘Yooka Laylee and the Impossible Lair.’

Emma: ‘Yooka Laylee.’ That’s…that’s interesting. Tell us a little bit about ‘Yooka Laylee.’

Luke: Uhh, well this one was a 2D platformer. Its Its kind of like ‘Donkey Kong Country.’ Um. So. And its also a really, really hard game and I still haven’t beaten it, so.

Emma: That’s probably the ‘impossible’ part in “Impossible Lair.”

Luke: I think-I think that might be it. How about you? What kinds of games are you in to?

Emma: I don’t play video games too much anymore. I used to uh, when I was younger, play, um, RPG games. I guess I’ll always play a Zelda game whenever a Zelda game comes out.

Luke: Yep.

Emma: ‘The Legend of Zelda.’

Luke: Yep. What was your favorite Zelda game?

Emma: Uh, ‘The Ocarina of Time.’ And its old but it is good.

Luke: That is a good one. I think they remade that one also, right?

Emma: Uh, they, they didn’t they remake it for the Gameboy? I don’t think they remade it in like high-definition or anything.

Luke: They need to do that though. That should be their number one priority.

Emma: They really should. Probably as other games, older games are getting remade for the younger audience.

Luke: Mm-hm. Yeah. And they, I think they just came out with Link’s Awakening for the Nintendo Switch.

Emma: That’s true.

Luke: That one looked fun.

Emma: ‘Animal Crossing’ just came out. I know a lot of people play Animal Crossing.

Luke: That one is really cool. And its not, not quite as stressful to play as Zelda or Mario or something.

Emma: I don’t know, taking care of your house can be pretty hard.

Luke: That’s true. Yep. Hashtag Real life.

Emma: That’s true. Alright. Uh, that concludes our conversation on video games for today. For transcripts and vocabulary lists please go to our website at www.dialoguefrog.com and we’ll see you next time.

Luke: See ya.
