You're listening to Dialogue Frog's short English conversations. Happy New Year!

Luke 0:08
Happy New Year.

Emma 0:10
Yay. 2021-

Luke 0:12
Mm hm.

Emma 0:12
-is here.

Luke 0:13
Yep.

Emma 0:15
You might say, hindsight is 2020.

Luke 0:19
Wow.

Emma 0:19
Yes.

Luke 0:20
That was amazing.

Emma 0:21
I-I think everyone's been waiting to say that for probably 365 days.

Luke 0:26
It's true.

Emma 0:26
Yep. So. We've partied...kind of.

Luke 0:34
Drunk our nog.

Emma 0:34
Had eggnog. Had chips and dip, other party foods and now it's time to get real with 2021.

Luke 0:41
Yep.

Emma 0:41
Do you have any uh, plans? Any new year's resolutions?

Luke 0:47
Yeah, uh, my new year's resolution will be 1080 by 720.

Emma 0:54
That...that sounds like like a screen resolution not like-

Luke 0:58
Oh!

Emma 0:59
-a life goal?

Luke 1:00
Oh. Oh.

Emma 1:02
That's the wrong kind of resolution.

Luke 1:04
Oh, my bad.

Emma 1:04
Yeah. Sorry. It was a confusing question.

Luke 1:06
Yeah.

Emma 1:07
Yeah, sorry.

Luke 1:07
I see. I'll have to start screening your questions now.

Emma 1:12
Yeah, yeah.

Emma 1:13
Yikes.

Luke 1:14
Yikes. Um, no, I'd like to, I would like to get a little bit healthier in the new year. Three pizzas a day is probably not ideal, um...

Emma 1:27
Yeah, that-that's a really common uh, New Year's resolution and you always see usually around like the last week of December in the like stores and things. You see them putting out like weights and exercise equipment.

Luke 1:43
Mh hm.

Emma 1:43
Like in the front of the store, because they know that a lot of people are going to try to to be healthier, be more active.

Luke 1:49
Yep.

Emma 1:52
And I think like a lot of people start joining gyms and so there-there was so I heard some kind of statistic once that, like gyms are always 50% more crowded, like right after, like in the month of January, and then usually by February, it's back to normal.

Luke 2:05
Yeah.

Emma 2:06
Yeah.

Luke 2:08
That's true. What about you? What's your resolution?

Emma 2:14
I would like to read more, which is kind of sad 'cause I read kind of a lot.

Luke 2:18
Yeah.

Emma 2:18
But I still feel like I don't read enough.

Luke 2:21
Yeah.

Emma 2:22
So I'm gonna try and do maybe two books a month.

Luke 2:25
That's cool.

Emma 2:26
Yeah. I don't yet have a book list. I need to find a book list or make a book list.

Luke 2:31
Yeah.

Emma 2:33
Keep myself on track.

Luke 2:34
Yeah. Like a train.

Emma 2:37
Like a train.

Luke 2:38
The Reading Railroad.

Emma 2:39
The Reading Railroad. Yes, I am on the Reading Railroad. Yep. Well, good luck to you with your New Year's resolution.

Luke 2:50
Thanks.

Emma 2:51
And Happy New Year. Happy 2021 to all of our Dialogue Frog listeners. Thank you again and uh, we hope to see you for the rest of the year.
