You are listening to Dialogue Frog’s short English conversations. So Luke, you have some exciting news, I hear.
Luke 0:10
Yep, I’m move’n places.
Emma 0:15
You’re moving house.
Luke 0:17
Yep.
Emma 0:17
That’s exciting stuff. There’s a lot that you have to think about when you’re getting ready to move.
Luke 0:22
Yep. Like, how am I gonna pay for this?
Emma 0:28
Oh, well, yeah, there’s that.
Luke 0:30
Um, how many boxes of things do I need? Um, can I have pets there? And if so, what pet should I have? Um…
Emma 0:44
You should probably get a, what are they called, a capybara?
Luke 0:47
Yeah.
Emma 0:48
Yeah.
Luke 0:51
Pet-
Emma 0:52
A gecko.
Luke 0:53
A gecko. A giraffe.
Emma 0:57
That one might not fit.
Luke 0:58
Yeah, I just thought I’d stick my neck out.
Emma 1:00
Ahaha. That’s a good one.
Luke 1:04
Yeah. So it uh, moving comes with complications, but it’s also exciting. So.
Emma 1:13
So you know, if you’re gonna ask me to help you move boxes and stuff, you know what the tradition is. You have to pay the person who’s helping move boxes with pizza.
Luke 1:22
Oh, yeah.
Emma 1:24
Yeah.
Luke 1:26
That’s true.
Emma 1:28
That’s true. It’s a tradition.
Luke 1:30
I might eat it all though. We’ll see.
Emma 1:33
Hey, now. That’s not how that works.
Luke 1:36
That is not how that works. Pizza’s good, though. That’s a different episode.
Emma 1:40
That is a different episode. But that’s ex-, so, you’re looking at buying new stuff for your new apartment?
Luke 1:47
Mm hm.
Emma 1:48
Yeah.
Luke 1:49
Yep, I need some… I think I need some towels and a area rug. I like the really plush ones.
Emma 1:57
Oh yeah. Yeah.
Luke 1:58
Um, I think that’s it. It I-I’m-I mean, and and a lot of stuff I have already so it’s just kind of, it’s kind of like we don’t I don’t really know what, what is what I’m gonna need until I actually get there.
Emma 2:11
Yeah.
Luke 2:11
So.
Emma 2:12
That’s, that’s usually often true and probably better to, to get there first and then figure out what you need rather than buy a bunch of stuff that you don’t need.
Luke 2:19
That’s true.
Emma 2:19
And have to move it twice.
Luke 2:20
That’s true.
Emma 2:22
Well, that’s exciting.
Luke 2:24
Mm hm.
Emma 2:24
I’ll be I’ll be waiting for my pizza.
Luke 2:28
Yeah, you will be for a really long time because I ate it all.
Emma 2:31
